Fågelbörs consists of drummer Jaakko Tolvi, bassist Tero Kemppäinen, saxophonist Matti Luokkanen and trumpeter Tuure Tamm. They represent the "third wave" of Finnish improvised music, which Tolvi and Kemppainen have pioneered since the early 2000s.
The first part of Marja's LP is reminiscent of the avant-garde of the 1960s, with rhythms and sounds reminiscent of certain albums by Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry. The slow-building atmosphere of the second half culminates in a surprise ending, reminiscent of the live concerts of the Art Ensemble of Chicago.
